Nexum 40mg Cap 2×7’s
Nexum 40mg Cap 2×7’s is an enteric-coated pellet formulation of esomeprazole magnesium due to its acid-labile nature. Esomeprazole is the S-isomer of omeprazole, which is a mixture of the S- and R- isomers that inhibit gastric acid secretion more effectively than omeprazole. Chemically Nexum 40mg Cap 2×7’s is bis(5-methoxy-2-[(S)-[(4-methoxy-3, 5-dimethyl-2-pyridinyl)methyl]sulfinyl]- 1H-benzimidazole-1-yl) magnesium trihydrate. The molecular formula is (C17H18N3O3S)2Mg x 3H2 O. This Capsule is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid. General – Symptomatic response to therapy with Nexum 40mg Capsule does not preclude the presence of gastric malignancy.
Uses

- Esomeprazole is also used to promote the healing of erosive esophagitis.
