Ezita 10mg Tablets is used in combination with a low-cholesterol/high-fat diet and exercise to lower blood cholesterol levels.
Uses
- Ezetimibe is used in combination with a low-cholesterol/high-fat diet and exercise to lower blood cholesterol levels.
- Ezetimibe can be used on its own or with other medicines (such as “statins” or fibrates).
- Ezetimibe works by reducing the amount of cholesterol that the body absorbs from food.
- Lowering cholesterol levels can help prevent strokes and heart attacks.
Side Effects Of Ezita 10mg Tablets
- Remember, this medicine has been prescribed for you because your doctor has decided that the benefits for you outweigh the risk of side effects.
- Many people using this drug do not experience any serious side effects.
- This medicine may increase the risk of liver damage (when taken with a ‘statin’) or muscle damage when taken with a fibrate or a ‘statin’.
- Tell your doctor right away if you notice any of the following symptoms: signs of liver problems (such as nausea/vomiting that doesn’t go away, severe stomach/abdominal pain, yellow eyes/skin, dark urine), muscle pain, tenderness/weakness (especially if you have a fever or are unusually tired).
- A very severe allergic reaction to this drug is rare.
- However, see a doctor straight away if you get any signs of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, difficulty breathing.
How To Use Ezita 10mg Tablets?
- Read the package leaflet, if available, from your pharmacist before you start taking ezetimibe and each time you take any dietary supplement.
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.
- Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually once a day with or without food.
- The dose depends on your condition and your response to treatment.
- If you are taking a bile acid sequestrant (such as cholestyramine, colestipol), take ezetimibe at least 2 hours before or at least 4 hours after taking a bile acid sequestrant.
- These products can bind to ezetimibe and prevent your body from fully absorbing the drug.
