Duvel Plus Tab 50mg 500mg 14’s is indicated for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: As an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in patients.
Sitagliptin/metformin is used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke.
Duvel Plus Tab 50mg 500mg 14’s contains 2 medications: sitagliptin and metformin. Sitagliptin works by increasing levels of natural substances called incretins. Incretins help to control blood sugar by increasing insulin release, especially after a meal. They also decrease the amount of sugar your liver makes.
Metformin works by helping to restore your body’s proper response to the insulin you naturally produce. It also decreases the amount of sugar that your liver makes and that your stomach/intestines absorb. Carefully follow the medication treatment plan. Do not crush or chew extended-release tablets. Doing so can release all of the drug at once, increasing the risk of side effects.
Duvel Plus Tab 50mg 500mg 14’s is used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. It is taken by mouth.
Side Effects
Some patients might experience nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhea, headache, or a metallic taste in the mouth may occur. Please consult your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms.
When Not to Use
Please consult your doctor if hypersensitivity reaction is suspected after using it. You should not use this medicine if you have severe kidney disease or diabetic ketoacidosis. If you need to have surgery or any type of x-ray or CT scan using a dye that is injected into your veins, you may need to temporarily stop taking metformin and sitagliptin.
