Polyfax Eye Ointment 6gm is used to treat eye infections. This product contains bacitracin and polymyxin, antibiotics that work by stopping the growth of bacteria. This medication treats only bacterial eye infections. It will not work for other types of eye infections (e.g., infections caused by viruses, fungi, mycobacteria). See more
Polymyxin B is indicated in infected ocular (eye) inflammation.
Burning, redness, or irritation of the skin may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. If you experience any of these symptoms for a long period of time, consult your doctor immediately.
When not to use
Polyfax Eye Ointment should not be used in patients with viral, fungal, tuberculous or purulent infections. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug.
