Glucophage XR Tab 750mg 3×10’s

Glucophage XR Tab 750mg 3×10’s is used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Glucophage XR is sometimes used together with insulin or other medications, but this medicine is not for treating type 1 diabetes.

 Metformin is used with a proper diet and exercise program and possibly with other medications to control high blood sugar. It is used in patients with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems.
The recommended starting dose of GLUCOPHAGE XR is 500 mg orally once daily with the evening meal. Increase the dose in increments of 500 mg weekly on the basis of glycemic control and tolerability, up to a maximum of 2000 mg once daily with the evening meal.

Uses

This medicatoin is used in the initial therapy for the management of diabetes.

Metformin is used with a proper diet and exercise program and possibly with other medications to control high blood sugar. It is used in patients with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Metformin works by helping to restore your body’s proper response to the insulin you naturally produce. It also decreases the amount of sugar that your liver makes and that your stomach/intestines absorb.

Side Effects

Some patients administered with this medication might experience Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea and stomach pain. Please consult your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms.

When Not To Use

Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you have any of these conditions; renal disease or renal dysfunction (kidney disorders), acute or chronic metabolic acidosis (diabetes complication)
