Zantac Inj 50mg 5Ampx 2ml Ranitidine

Zantac Inj 50mg 5Ampx 2ml Ranitidine is indicated for the short term treatment of peptic ulcer and the treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux, including reflux oesophagitis and symptomatic relief of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease.

For ulcer treatment, a night-time dose is especially important, as the increase in gastric and duodenal pH promotes healing overnight, when the stomach and duodenum are empty. Conversely, for treating acid reflux, smaller and more frequent doses are more effective.[medical citation needed]

Ranitidine was originally administered long-term for acid-reflux treatment, sometimes indefinitely. For some, though, proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) have taken over this role. In addition, in children, a fairly rapid tachyphylaxis can develop within six weeks of initiation of treatment, further limiting its potential for long-term.

People with Zollinger Ellison syndrome have been given high doses without any harm.

This drug is used for the treatment of duodenal, benign gastric and post-operative ulceration, including that due to NSAIDs. It can also be used for the prevention of NSAID induced ulcers, and duodenal ulcers associated with H.pylori. Other indications can include oesophageal reflux, reduction of gastric acid, chronic episodic dyspepsia (indigestion), moderate to severe oesophagitis, and long-term treatment of healed GERD.
