No-Spa Forte Tab 80mg 2×10’s is indicated for the treatment of smooth muscle contractions (felt as recurrent stomach pain) in the gastrointestinal tract, gall bladder and urinary tract. No-Spa Forte Tab 80mg 2×10’s is a combination medicine that helps reduce pain and cramps during periods. It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms) and blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation, thereby relieving cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort.
Drotaverine (INN, also known as drotaverin) is an antispasmodic drug, used to enhance cervical dilation during childbirth.
It is structurally related to papaverine, is a selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase 4, and has no anticholinergic effects.
It is available in Asian[specify] and Central and Eastern European[specify] countries under several brand names.
An article from 2013 described the effects from overdose (in a 19-year-old woman) as including vomiting, seizures and fatal cardiac toxicity.
In 2016, the young Russian chess player Ivan Bukavshin died of a massive overdose (or poisoning) of the drug, which was originally thought to be a stroke. his doses was 17 mg/kg in the blood stream.

Side Effects
Side effects of No-Spa Forte Tab 80mg 2×10’s can include constipation, a transient decrease in heart rate, decreased lung secretions, urinary urgency and retention, dilation of pupils with loss of accommodation, extreme sensitivity to light, dry mouth, flushing, and dryness of skin. Occasionally, confusion in elderly, nausea, vomiting, giddiness, and angle-closure glaucoma can occur.
When Not To Use
No-Spa Forte Tab 80mg 2×10’s is not to be given in Myasthenia Gravis, paralytic ileus (paralysis of intestinal muscles), pyloric stenosis (narrow opening of stomach), toxic megacolon (acute distention of colon), and enlarged prostate. Consult your doctor before use.
