Ansaid Tablets 100mg 30’s

Ansaid Tablets 100mg 30’s is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). This medicine works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Ansaid is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Ansaid may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Flurbiprofen is a member of the phenylalkanoic acid derivative family of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is primarily indicated as a pre-operative anti-miotic (in an ophthalmic solution) as well as orally for arthritis or dental pain. Side effects are analogous to those of ibuprofen.

It was derived from propionic acid by the research arm of Boots UK during the 1960s, a period which also included the discovery of ibuprofen, indometacin, diclofenac, naproxen, ketoprofen, and sulindac.

Uses Of Ansaid Tablets 100mg 30’s

This medication is used for treating,

  • pain,
  • swelling and joint stiffness caused by Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • (an autoimmune disorder that primarily affects joints),
  • osteoarthritis (a disorder of the joints and bone),
  • ankylosing spondylitis (a rare type of arthritis that causes pain and stiffness of the spine).
  • This medication is known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
  • If you are treating a chronic condition such as arthritis, ask your doctor about non-drug treatments and/or using other medications to treat your pain.

Side Effects

The patients administered with this medicine may experience gastrointestinal disturbances,

  • jaundice (rare)
  • thrombocytopenia (low platelet count)
  • swelling
  • mouth ulcers
  • dizziness and visual disturbances.
  • flurbiprofen (the active ingredient contained in Ansaid) may cause some unwanted effects.
  • Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

When Not To Use

  • Patients with peptic ulcer disease,
  • gastrointestinal bleeding and aspirin/anti-inflammatory agents associated allergies should avoid the use of this medicine.

Indications

  • This medicine can be used to treat rheumatic conditions (joints and bones, cartilage, and muscular pain),
  • sprains (stretching/tearing of ligaments)
  • strains (stretching muscles or tendons).

Contraindications

This medicine is contraindicated in patients with asthma (breathing disorder) and aspirin/anti-inflammatory induced allergy.

This medicine is recommended for patients with high blood pressure, bleeding disorders, and kidney, heart, and liver abnormalities.
