Tritace Tablets 5mg 1×28’s contains a medicine called ramipril. This belongs to a group of medicines called ACE inhibitors (Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitors). Tritace Tablets 5mg 1×28’s works by Decreasing your body’s production of substances that could raise your blood pressure, Ramipril is a medicine widely used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. It’s also prescribed after a heart attack. Ramipril helps prevent future strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. It also improves your survival if you’re taking it for heart failure or after a heart attack.
In addition to decreasing angiotensin II and increasing bradykinin levels, ramipril increases the levels of vasodilatory renal medullary neutral lipids and inhibits platelet-derived growth factor-induced proliferation of glomerulus cells. Ramipril also decreases transforming growth factor-beta in the kidney. A headache, dizziness, and fatigue. The dry cough usually resolves on discontinuation of therapy. This side effect is common to all ACE inhibitors.
Occasionally, ramipril may cause excessive lowering of blood pressure but the risk is higher in those on diuretic therapy or who are sodium depleted or dehydrated. Bananas. Don’t eat them if you take ACE inhibitors such as captopril, enalapril, and fosinopril among others. This medication is not recommended for use in patients suffering from aortic narrowing (heart disease) or outflow blockage (Heart Disorder).
Indications
It is not recommended for use in patients on hemodialysis as well as liver impairment.
