Terbinafine belongs to the group of medicines called antifungals. It is used to treat fungus infections of the scalp, body, groin (jock itch), feet (athlete’s foot), fingernails, and toenails. This product is available in the following dosage forms: Tablet.

You should Avoid coffee, tea, cola, energy drinks or other sources of caffeine while taking terbinafine. Avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Terbinafine can make you sunburn more easily. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when you are outdoors. swelling, rapid weight gain, little or no urinating; blood in your urine or stools; weight loss due to taste changes or loss of appetite; or. skin sores, butterfly-shaped skin rash on your cheeks and nose (worsens in sunlight).Jul 28, 2020.

Uses

Terbinafine is used to treat certain types of fungal infections (for example, of the fingernail or toenail). It works by stopping the growth of fungus. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as antifungals. Take this medication by mouth with or without food, usually once a day or as directed by your doctor.

Side Effects

Diarrhea or stomach upset may occur. If either of these effects lasts or gets worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

When Not To Use

This medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Limit your time in the sun. Avoid tanning booths and sunlamps. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Tell your doctor right away if you get sunburned or have skin blisters/redness.
