Slix Sachet 10’s

Slix Sachet 10’s is a medical food for use in people who have conditions related to folate deficiency. Slix Sachet 10’s is also used in people with the major depressive disorder who have folate deficiency, or in people with schizophrenia who have hyperhomocysteinemia related to folate deficiency.

Women of childbearing age should receive adequate amounts of folic acid either through their diet or supplements to prevent infant spinal cord birth defects.
Myo-Inositol has been proposed for the treatment of cardiovascular disease and advanced cancers such as breast and colorectal cancers. Myo-Inositol is water-soluble and primarily excreted via the kidneys. Myo-Inositol is the primary biologically active form of folate used at the cellular level for DNA reproduction, the cysteine cycle, and the regulation of homocysteine.

 

Uses

Slix Sachet 10’s is the man-made form of folate. Folate is a B-vitamin naturally found in some foods. It is needed to form healthy cells, especially red blood cells. Folic acid supplements may come in different forms (such as L-methylfolate, levomefolate, methyltetrahydrofolate). They are used to treat or prevent low folate levels. Low folate (folic acid) levels can lead to certain types of anemia.

 

Side Effects

Folic acid usually has very few side effects. If you have any unusual effects from taking this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), dizziness, trouble breathing.
