Safepram 10 mg tablet

Escitalopram is used to treat depression and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). It is an antidepressant that belongs to a group of medicines known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). These medicines work by increasing the activity of the chemical serotonin in the brain.
Antidepressants like escitalopram help to jump start your mood so you feel better. You may notice that you sleep better and get on with people more easily because you‘re less anxious.

Uses

This medication is used to treat depression and anxiety, along with panic disorder with or without agoraphobia (fear in escaping situations or places).

Side Effects

Patients administered with this medication may feel nausea, sweating, somnolence(sleepiness), dizziness, insomnia, GI upset, reduced appetite, sexual dysfunction, fatigue, fever, sinusitis (inflammation of sinuses), yawning, nausea, headache, weight gain, dry mouth, anxiety, agitation, abnormal dreams, paresthesia (tingling sensation), tremor, arthralgia (joint pain), myalgia(muscle pain), sweating.

When Not To Use

This medication is contraindicated in patients with serotonin syndrome (excess serotonin causes shivering and diarrhea), unstable epilepsy (fits). Before taking escitalopram, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to citalopram; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.
