Ronirol Tab 1mg 21’s

Ronirol Tab 1mg 21’s is used alone or with other medications to treat the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease (PD; a disorder of the nervous system that causes difficulties with movement, muscle control, and balance), including shaking of parts of the body, stiffness, slowed movements, and problems with balance.

Ropinirole (Requip), rotigotine (Neupro) and pramipexole (Mirapex) are approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of moderate to severe RLS . Short-term side effects of these medications are usually mild and include nausea, lightheadedness and fatigue.

The clearance of ropinirole after oral administration to patients is 47 L/hour and its elimination half-life is approximately 6 hours. It is extensively metabolized by the liver to inactive metabolites and demonstrates linear kinetics over the therapeutic dosing range of 1–8 mg 3 times daily.
Ropinirole is also used to treat restless legs syndrome (RLS). It may improve your sleep by decreasing the urge to move your legs and decreasing uncomfortable/unpleasant feelings in the legs. This medication works by helping to restore the balance of a certain natural substance (dopamine) in the brain.
Hallucinations warning: Ropinirole can cause hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not real). Seniors are at higher risk for this side effect. Tell your doctor right away if you have hallucinations. Compulsive behavior warning: Ropinirole can cause intense urges to gamble, spend money, or binge-eat.
Some products that may interact with this drug are: antipsychotics (e.g., chlorpromazine, haloperidol, thiothixene), metoclopramide. Other medications can affect the removal of ropinirole from your body, which may affect how ropinirole works.

Uses

This medication is used as monotherapy or as an adjunct for the treatment of idiopathic (unknown cause) Parkinson’s disease. It can also be used to treat restless legs syndrome.

 

Side Effects

Side-effects include gastrointestinal upset, nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, hallucinations, confusion, fatigue, fainting, leg edema, sudden onset of sleep, hypotension (low blood pressure), and abdominal pain.

 

When Not To Use

The use is contraindicated in patients with kidney and liver problems.
