Prepro-Z Sachet 10’s are live bacteria and yeasts that are good for you, especially your digestive system. We usually think of these as germs that cause diseases. But your body is full of bacteria, both good and bad. Probiotics are often called “good” or “helpful” bacteria because they help keep your gut healthy.

Probiotics are live microorganisms promoted with claims that they provide health benefits when consumed, generally by improving or restoring the gut flora. Probiotics are considered generally safe to consume but may cause bacteria-host interactions and unwanted side effects in rare cases. There is little evidence that probiotics bring the health benefits claimed for them.

A growing probiotics market has led to the need for stricter requirements for scientific substantiation of putative benefits conferred by microorganisms claimed to be probiotic. Although numerous claimed benefits are marketed towards using consumer probiotic products, such as reducing gastrointestinal discomfort, improving immune health, relieving constipation, or avoiding the common cold.

Though probiotics are considered safe, some have concerns about their safety in certain cases. In severely ill people with inflammatory bowel disease, a risk exists for the passage of viable bacteria from the gastrointestinal tract to the internal organs (bacterial translocation) as a consequence of bacteremia, which can cause adverse health consequences.

Uses

Prepro-Z Sachet 10’s is used for treating and preventing diarrhoea, including infectious types such as rotaviral diarrhoea in children and traveller’s diarrhea. It is also used to prevent and treat diarrhoea associated with using antibiotics.

Side Effects

Prepro-Z Sachet 10’s can cause Bacteremia, endocarditis, septicemia, pneumonia, and deep abdominal abscesses.

When Not To Use

The use of Prepro-Z Sachet 10’s in severe acute pancreatitis is contraindicated. Use is also not advised in patients at risk of opportunistic infections and in those with badly damaged GI tracts. Use with caution in immunocompromised patients.
