Description

Panadol Liq 160mg 120ml

Panadol Liq 160mg 120ml is used to treat mild to moderate pain (from headaches, menstrual periods, toothaches, backaches, osteoarthritis, or cold/flu aches and pains) and to reduce fever.

Adults and adolescents over 16 years: 500mg (5ml) or 1000mg (10ml) up to three to four times a day, as required. Maximum daily dose should not exceed 4g (40ml). The dose should not be repeated more frequently than every four hours, and not more than four doses should be taken in any 24 hour period.

The recommended dose for Children’s Panadol in children under 12 years is 15 milligrams of paracetamol for every 1 kilogram of bodyweight. Gentle enough to dose every 4–6 hours if necessary. Do not give more than 4 doses in 1 day or within any 24 hour period.
You can take a dose of paracetamol every 4-6 hours if needed, up to four times a day. Remember to leave at least four hours between doses and do not take more than four doses of paracetamol in any 24-hour period.
The maximum daily dose is 60 mg/kg/24 hours. The syrup could be given 4-6 hourly, up to a maximum of 4 doses per 24 hours. If your child is less than 5 kg or less than 3 months, please consult your doctor on adjusting the dosage. Use measuring cup for correct dosage.
Babies often seem to sleep better than usual during these times, which might explain why some parents keep giving doses when they won’t sleep. But it doesn’t really work. Paracetamol has no effect on sleep whatsoever. It’s safe, but not useful.

Uses

This medication is used for treating mild to moderate pain e.g. for headaches, tooth aches, backaches, etc. It can also be used for treating fever.

Side Effects

The patients administered with this medicine may experience increased heart rate, decreased glucose levels, allergic reactions, and cyanosis (blue discoloration of the skin).

When Not To Use

If you have a depressed respiratory rate (decreased rate of breathing) or any other serious side effects, please immediately contact your doctor.
