Nimixa200mg Tablet (Rifaximin) is a non-aminoglycoside semi-synthetic, nonsystemic antibacterial derived from rifamycin SV. Nimixa 200mg Tablet is a structural analog of rifampin. Chemically, Nimixa 200mg Tablet is (2S,16Z,18E,20S,21S,22R,23R,24R,25S,26R,27S,28E)-5,6,21,23- Tetrahydroxy-27-methoxy-2,4,11,16,20,22,24, 26-octamethyl-1,15- dioxo-1,2-dihydro-2,7- (epoxypentadeca [1,11,13] trienoimino) benzofuro[4,5-e]pyrido[1,2-a]benzimidazol-25-yl acetate. The molecular formula of Nimixa 200mg Tablet is C43H51N3O11. THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of Nimixa 200mg Tablet (Rifaximin) and other antibacterial drugs, Nimixa 200mg Tablet (Rifaximin) when used to treat infection should be used only to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria.

The systemic drug interaction potential of Nimixa 200mg Tablet is low as it does not inhibit cytochrome P450 isoenzymes. In patients with no rmal liver function, rifaximin at the r ecommended dosing regimen is not expected to induce CY P 3A4 . Nimixa 200mg Tablet is unknown whether Nimixa 200mg Tablet can have a significant effect on the pharmacokinetics of concomitant CYP3A4 substrates in patients with reduced liver function.Side effects of Nimixa 200mg Tablet Nausea, vomiting,constipation, diarrhea, bloating. Uses

Nimixa 200mg Tablet is used to treat diarrhea caused by the common bacteria known as E. coli (“traveler’s diarrhea”)

 When not use

Nimixa 200mg Tablet is contraindicated: – In patients with a hypersensitivity to Nimixa 200mg Tablet, any of the rifamycin antimicrobial agents, or any of the excipient of product. – During pregnancy and in women of childbearing potential not using contraception. – In the treatment of traveler’s diarrhea caused by invas ive enteric pathogens such as Campylobacter, Salmonella and Shighella, which typically produce dysentery like diarrhea characterized by fever .
