Laxoberon Tab 5mg 10×10’s

Sodium picosulfate works by encouraging the muscles in your bowel to move waste products through your body. This helps you to go to the toilet. It usually has an effect within 6-12 hours.
It may be dangerous to give too much sodium picosulfate. Too much sodium picosulfate can cause stomach pain (cramps), diarrhoea (runny poo), and may lead to dehydration if too much stools (poo) is passed.
Sodium picosulfate (INN, also known as sodium picosulphate) is a contact stimulant laxative used as a treatment for constipation or to prepare the large bowel before colonoscopy or surgery.
Stool softeners you can buy over-the-counter are effective for most people. While they are only intended for short-term relief of constipation, using a daily stool softener long-term probably is not harmful. However, there are other ways to help relieve constipation that are often successful.
Uses

This medicine is used to treat constipation.

Sodium picosulfate/magnesium oxide/citric acid solution is used to clean out the intestines before surgery or certain procedures (such as colonoscopy, X-rays). It is a laxative that works by drawing large amounts of water into your intestines and stimulating the colon.
Side Effects

The patients administered with this medicine may experience gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dry mouth, thirst, fatigue, and sleeping disorders.

When Not To Use

This drug is not to be given in patients suffering from gastric retention, GI ulceration, obstruction or perforation, toxic colitis, toxic megacolon, ileus, nausea and vomiting, congestive heart failure, rhabdomyolysis (destruction of striated muscle cells), severe kidney impairment, ascites (abdominal swelling), acute surgical abdominal conditions, severe dehydration, increased magnesium ions in blood, and active inflammatory bowel disease.
