Getryl Tab 2mg 2×10’s (Glimepiride) is an oral blood glucose lowering drug of the sulfonylurea class. Chemically glimepiride is 1-[[p-[2-(3-ethyl-4-methyl2-oxo-3-pyrroline-1-carboxamido)ethyl]phenyl]-sulphonyl]-3-(trans-4- methylcyclohexyl)urea. molecular formula is C24H34N4O5S. This Tablet is used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. It may also be used with other diabetes medications. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems.

Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. This Tablet belongs to the class of drugs known as sulfonylureas. It lowers blood sugar by causing the release of your body’s natural insulin. Before taking glimepiride, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies.
