Febhil Tablets 40mg 20’s is in a class of medications called xanthine oxidase inhibitors. It works by decreasing the amount of uric acid that is made in the body. Febuxostat is used to prevent gout attacks but not to treat them once they occur. Febuxostat oral tablet is used to treat hyperuricemia (constantly high levels of uric acid) in adults who have gout. It helps decrease your symptoms of gout. Symptoms of gout include pain, swelling, redness, heat, soreness, and stiffness in certain joints.

The most common side effect of febuxostat is an increase in attacks of gout during the early stages of treatment. But If you do have an attack of gout, don’t stop taking febuxostat. Treat the attack as you would normally. Most people do not experience other side effects. In recent years, a series of RCTs have been conducted to clarify whether febuxostat could also lower or influence the natural history of hypertension.
