Diflucan Capsule 150mg 1’s is usually sufficient to treat vaginal candidiasis. Can be given as a single daily dose. The absorption of fluconazole is not affected by food. Generic fluconazole is available.Fluconazole is used to treat vaginal yeast infections.

It works by stopping the growth of common types of vaginal yeast (fungus). This medication belongs to a class of drugs called azole antifungals. If you have vaginal thrush, balanitis or oral thrush, your symptoms should be better within 7 days of taking fluconazole. If you have a serious fungal infection, ask your doctor how long it will take for fluconazole to start to work. It may be 1 to 2 weeks before it reaches its full effect.

If you take antifungals such as fluconazole (Diflucan), griseofulvin (Grifulvin), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), avoid dairy products (milk, cheeses, yogurt, ice cream) or antacids because they interfere with absorption and efficacy of antifungals.

• This medicine should be taken with food.

Patients with impaired kidney (kidney function) should not take this medicine.
