Tolterodine, sold under the brand names Detrol among others, is medication used to treat frequent urination, urinary incontinence, or urinary urgency. Effects are seen within an hour. It is taken by mouth. Common side effects include headache, dry mouth, constipation, and dizziness.

Uses Of Detrusitol 2mg Tablets 28’s

This medication is recommended in patients with an

• Unstable bladder
• Urinary urgency
• Who feel the need to urinate frequently, and those with urinary incontinence (patients don’t have control over their urination and pass urine involuntarily).

How to Use?

• It is usual to take the 4 mg strength capsule.
• The capsules have been specially made to release tolterodine evenly over the day, so it is important that you swallow the capsule whole – do not chew it before you swallow.
• You can take tolterodine either before or after meals.
• Swallow your doses with a drink of water.

Side Effects

• Patients using this medication may at times experience dry mouth and GI (stomach) upset.
• If you experience any of these symptoms for a long period of time, consult your doctor immediately.
• It is usual to take the 4 mg strength capsule.

• You can take tolterodine either before or after meals.

When Not To Use

This medication is not recommended in patients with,

• severe GI (gastro-intestinal) conditions
• urinary retention (patients can’t empty their bladder).

Indications

This medication is suggested for those with the feeling of urgency to urinate, the need to urinate often or suffer from urinary incontinence (patients aren’t in control of the frequency of their urination and are able to have to urinate involuntarily).
