Description

cosopt-ophthalmic-drops-5ml

cosopt-ophthalmic-drops-5ml is a combination of a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor and a beta-blocker that reduces pressure in the eye and is used to treat certain types of glaucoma and other causes of high pressure inside the eye. Cosopt is available in generic form.

COSOPT is prescribed to lower raised pressure in the eye in the treatment of glaucoma when beta-blocker eyedrop medicine used alone is not adequate. if you are allergic to dorzolamide hydrochloride, timolol maleate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Store in the original foil sachet in order to protect from light. You can use COSOPT Preservative-Free 15 days after first opening the sachet. Discard any unused single dose containers after this time. Discard the opened single dose container with any remaining solution immediately after first use.
Observations from the very limited number of patients with timolol-induced telogen effluvium indicate that an abnormal number of hairs, especially scalp hairs, eyebrows and eyelashes, may start to shed 1–24 months after administration of the eye-drops (6), although further studies are warranted to verify this.
Once the drop is on the eye, do not blink your eye or move it around to spread the drop. Instead, gently close your eyes just once, place the pad of your most sensitive finger at the inside corner of the eyelid by the nose and press gently. Leave the eyelids closed and the finger pressing gently for 2 full minutes.
