CO-Aprovel Tablets 150mg 12.5mg 2×14’s is indicated in adults for the treatment of essential hypertension. It is also indicated for the treatment of renal disease in adult patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus as part of an antihypertensive medicinal product regimen. Co-Aprovel is used in adults who have essential hypertension that is not adequately controlled by irbesartan or hydrochlorothiazide alone. ‘Essential’ means that hypertension has no obvious cause. The medicine can only be obtained with a prescription.

Irbesartan does not inhibit ACE, an enzyme that generates angiotensin-II and also degrades bradykinin into inactive metabolites. Irbesartan does not require metabolic activation for its activity. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic. Irbesartan starts to work after about 3 to 6 hours to reduce high blood pressure but it may take up to 4 to 6 weeks for full effect. If you have high blood pressure, you may not have any symptoms.
