Description
Cicatrin Powder 20 Gram
Cicatrin powder 20 Gram is used as a prophylactic or treatment and healing agent for surface wounds, minor burns, and stasis ulcers. Not recommended for the treatment of superficial fungal infections. The use of the powder does not exclude concomitant systemic therapy with antibiotics where appropriate.
This medication is recommended in mixed candidal (fungal) infections.
Amino Acids are used in the treatment of hepatic encephalopathy (decline in brain function due to severe liver disease) and patients with long-lasting liver diseases.
Neomycin Sulphate stops the production of essential proteins in the bacteria while bacitracin stops the formation of the bacterial cell wall. Cicatrin also promotes healing by increasing cellular multiplication of the skin cells.
This medication should be avoided if you are allergic to corticosteroids. Its use is prohibited in patients with severe kidney disorders and those with abnormal amino acid metabolism (breakdown).
Uses
This medication is recommended in mixed candidal (fungal) infections. Bacitracin is used topically in bacterial infections caused by sensitive organisms associated with inflammatory and / or allergic conditions of the eye.
Side Effects Of Cicatrin Powder 20 Gram
Patients using this medication may at times experience corneal thinning, cataract, fungal infection and rise in intraocular (eye) pressure. If you experience any of these symptoms for a long period of time, consult your doctor immediately.
Its side effects include hypoglycemia (decreased blood glucose level), hyperammonemia (excessive ammonia in the blood), hypersensitivity reactions, nausea, vomiting, chest discomfort, palpitations, acidosis (excessively acidic condition of the body fluids), chills, fever, and headache.
When Not To Use
Risk can not be ruled out, so consult your doctor before using this medication. Please consult your doctor before using bacitracin during pregnancy. There is insufficient evidence available regarding medicine’s safe usage in pregnancy, therefore, caution is advised.
Consult your doctor before using this medication when lactating.
