Bosmon Tab 62.5mg 14’s

Bosmon Tab 62.5mg 14’s is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH, high blood pressure in the vessels that carry blood to the lungs) in adults and children 3 years of age and older. Bosentan may improve the ability to exercise and slow the worsening of symptoms in patients with PAH.

Bosentan is used to treat high blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary arterial hypertension). This condition is thought to be caused by increased levels of a certain natural substance (endothelin-1).
How is bosentan given? Bosentan is taken orally, with or without food. There are two FDA approved doses; 62.5 mg (orange-white and round) or 125 mg (orange-white and oval). Patients’ physicians will decide which strength is right for them.

Liver problems have happened. Call your doctor right away if you get signs of liver problems like dark urine, feeling tired, not hungry, upset stomach or stomach pain, light-colored stools, throwing up, or yellow skin or eyes.

Uses

This medicine is used to treat increased blood pressure in the lungs and for Systemic Sclerosis (hardening and thickening of skin surrounding organs and blood vessels).Bosentan is used to treat high blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary arterial hypertension). This condition is thought to be caused by increased levels of a certain natural substance (endothelin-1).

Side Effects

Following are the side effects of this medicine: Drowsiness, Upset stomach, Difficulty urinating, Confusion, Slight skin irritation, Headache.increased serum alanine aminotransferase and increased serum aspartate aminotransferase. Other side effects include: decreased hematocrit, decreased hemoglobin, hepatic insufficiency, hypotension, palpitations, and flushing. When Not To Use

Anemia, decreased blood platelets, acute decompensated heart failure (sudden and serious symptoms of heart failure), fluid in the lungs, liver problems, visible water retention in the body, high amount of bilirubin in the blood, abnormal liver function tests, pregnancy, breastfeeding mothers and patients with lung diseases.
