Arthrotec Tab 50mg 200mcg 20’s
Arthrotec Tab 50mg 200mcg 20’s is a non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drug which is effective in treating the signs and symptoms of arthritic conditions. This activity is due to the presence of diclofenac which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.
Diclofenac, sold under the brand name Voltaren among others, is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat pain and inflammatory diseases such as gout. It is taken by mouth, rectally in a suppository, used by injection, or applied to the skin. Improvements in pain last for as much as eight hours. It is also available in combination with misoprostol in an effort to decrease stomach problems.
Diclofenac was patented in 1965 by Ciba-Geigy; it came into medical use in the United States in 1988.It is available as a generic medication.In 2017, it was the 94th most commonly prescribed medication in the United States, with more than eight million prescriptions.It is available as both a sodium and a potassium salt.
Uses
This medicine is used in the management of muscular and skeletal disorder pain, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthrosis, ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis affecting joints of spine), acute gout (complex form of arthritis with extreme pain and swelling of joints) and chronic juvenile arthritis (arthritis in children)
Side Effects
This medicine can cause stomach upset and gastric pain, headache, edema, ulcer, liver and kidney problems, skin allergy, blood problems, and pain at injection site.
Some patients might experience diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, gas, or abnormal vaginal bleeding. If you experience any of these symptoms please consult your doctor before taking misoprostol.
When Not To Use
This medicine should not be used by patients allergic to aspirin/antiinflammatory drugs and patients with active peptic ulcer and Proctitis (inflammation of rectum). Women of childbearing age should consult a doctor before taking misoprostol.
